Teen substance abuse and addiction is not quite the same thing. Drug or alcohol abuses always come first before the addiction, thus the importance and attention needed for any symptoms. The cases of teen substance abuse are even more serious than in the case of adults because their body and mind are still in a developmental state. Turning to drugs or alcohol may totally change the way they perceive themselves, the way they learn and the entire growing up process. Some of the most common issues they will have to face will be the lack of concentration, memory loss, impaired judgments and thoughts and participating in very dangerous actions.
